this is a drawing ive been playing with in my sketchbook the past couple of months. its now 'done' as far as i am concerned. i finished it in berlin. could add some text stuff to it. but i have no idea. its about volcanoes, explosions, and whatever i felt like drawing at a given minute, a lot of which was blacked out. has a big trapezoid-splosion in it.
you're obviously an amazing artist, but i think the text adds a lot to this piece. the impact of words is underestimated, i think. if you say the right things, it can be really powerful, and i think it was here. it has a way of bringing some kind of sense to a piece, while at the same time--putting it more in the viewers head and making it easier for them to interpret. if that makes sense. i also love the little guy at the bottom left, nice touch.

What thoughts I have of you tonight, Walt Whitman . . . for I walked down the sidestreets, under the trees with a headache- self-conscious- looking at the full moon.
i usually try not to make too many words with it cause it can also set people into thinking 'oh this means this or that', and id rather they can just make up whatever they please. but i do like to add lots of words in the zines i make, then it feels a bit more fitting and can add a lot as you say. thanks for the feedback.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
